🦇🦉 Second Grade Goes Batty for Bats & Owls! 🦉🦇
Our second graders had a hoot learning all about bats and owls! We wrapped up our unit with an exciting hands-on experience—dissecting owl pellets! 🔬🦴
A special thank you to Mrs. Greene, our high school science teacher, for donating the owl pellets for our class to explore. The students were fascinated as they carefully dissected the pellets and discovered tiny bones, bits of hair, and even tiny jaws with teeth from the animals the owls had eaten! 😮🦴
It was such a fun way to put our learning into action and become little scientists for the day! Our second graders loved investigating, making observations, and discovering what was hidden inside each pellet. 🥰🔎
What an exciting way to finish our bats and owls unit! 🦇🦉❤️

💙 Happy School Custodian Appreciation Day to Anita and Jody! 💙
Today we want to give a HUGE thank you to Anita and Jody (not here today) for everything they do for our school! 🏫✨
They work hard behind the scenes every single day to keep our school clean, safe, welcoming, and ready for our students and staff. From the big jobs to all the little things that often go unnoticed, they do it all with dedication and care.
We are so grateful for the pride you take in our school and for the kindness you show to everyone around you. Our school would not be the same without you! ❤️
Thank you, Anita and Jody, for all that you do! We appreciate you more than you know! 🌟🧹💙

Who should get a pie in the face?!
The FBLA chapter is doing a Pie-in-the-Face Fundraiser at the elementary and the high school. Please look at the pictures to see who our participants are at each building. Students may donate any amount to the person of their choosing in their building. If they are in the elementary, Mrs. Leach will collect the donations and record who they go to. At the high school, it goes to Mrs. Miller.
This fundraiser will go from October 1st-12th. The winners will be "pied" during Homecoming Week! Any person who raises $100 or more will automatically be pied. Otherwise, the top 5 highest donations from each building will receive the pie-in-the-face! Students who donate the most money will get to do the pieing! Good Luck!!

Four Sandhills FFA members participated in State Range Judging. It was a beautiful day to learn what State Range is all about! Students had a great day with Rafe Larsen being our top point earner, finding himself just outside of the top 25% and a ribbon. Zara Anderson and Heath Larsen landed well into the top 50% as well and Charlie Smith coming close to the top 50%. As a team they placed 24th out of 71 teams. 272 students participated in the junior division and over 500 students total!
Good Luck, Lady Knights!
