Sandhills Public Schools

NEP Ranking 2022-23

Sandhills Parents and Patrons:

I am very happy to share with you the most recent school ranking from the Nebraska Department of Education.  Each year the Department of Education tracks school data. Measurements are taken in assessment scores, attendance, school discipline, special education services, and other information in order to create an educational profile for each district in Nebraska.  A schools districts NEP (Nebraska Educational Profile) is then assigned an AQUESTT  (Accountability for a Quality Education System Today and Tomorrow) ranking. A school district’s ranking falls in one of four categories: Excellent, Great, Good, or Needs Help to Improve.

For the 2022-23 school year Sandhills Elementary School is Excellent, the middle school and the high school are both Great, and the district received an overall ranking of Great.  Each school score and the district score are an improvement over last year’s ranking.

It is very important to recognize those who have a direct impact on our school’s success. So, thank you parents for emphasizing the importance of academics and attendance to your students.  Thank you, teachers, for your efforts in preparing our kids for success both today in their assessments, and for their future as young adults. But mostly, thank you Sandhills Public Schools student body. We have talked about the importance of showing up and putting in our best effort in all that we do.  Our motto for the year has been “Excellence is not an Accident.” By almost every measuring stick you can use whether it be in the classroom, on the stage, or in the competitive arena our student body exudes excellence.
